"Akku Yadav" is a name that refers to a notorious criminal and rapist who terrorized a slum in Nagpur, Maharashtra, India, in the early 2000s. Yadav was accused of several crimes, including rape, murder, and extortion. He had a gang of around 200 people, who helped him in his criminal activities.
In 2004, a group of women from the slum, who had been raped by Yadav, decided to take matters into their own hands. They attacked Yadav with axes and knives and hacked him to death in the middle of a busy street, in broad daylight, in front of a large crowd of onlookers.
The incident garnered a lot of media attention, and the women who killed Yadav became known as the "Pink Gang" for wearing pink saris and wielding weapons to defend themselves against him. The Pink Gang received both criticism and praise for taking the law into their own hands, and their story inspired a documentary film called "Gulabi Gang" in 2012.
